Eufrocina Macedo is a young mother of four girls and two boys ranging in age from 3 to 15. When asked how the knitting she does for Ethica in Australia had helped her, she said that the income allowed her to buy vegetables and other food that the family normally can’t have. When asked where she got the time to knit the beautiful finger puppets and alpaca scarves she does, she said that now she does the washing and the cooking much more quickly than before, to make the time for her handwork.

She doesn’t take the cow and the donkey out to pasture so much, and her husband and children bring the fodder in to the animals.
